I think adapting a Catholic rosary to Wicca is a great idea. Catholicism has a lot of parallels with Paganism, so many Catholic practices can be adapted. You could remove the crucifix and replace it with a pentacle on the end. You can also change the sequence of beads if another sequence makes more sense in your tradition too.

To address your comment on groups not addressing the devotional aspects, I tend to agree. I've found that many groups focus on either only the practical aspects of Wicca, or they are purely devotional. It is more unusual for a group to have both aspects in equal measure, which is what I think is best. It's a difficult balance at times. As our religion develops more in society, it will improve.

I'm very glad to see this topic raised.

I believe that the personal relationship between the Witch and her gods is fundamental to meaningful religion. I mean by that that it is the foundation for everything else, and everything else is a means to that end. My exposure to groups is limited, but it seems to me that this is not emphasized enough at all. Teaching seems to deal only with the "bric-a-brac" of practicing Witchcraft and virtually omits the subject of personal spirituality. I sometimes wonder if what is being taught isn't more of a technology than a spiritual path.

My own practice has been almost exclusively devotional for some time. Years ago, I adapted the "Prayer of the Heart," a Christian hesychast prayer form, to my worship of Diana, and I use an old Catholic rosary to do it. It has been a powerful means of bringing me closer to my Goddess.

I think many people in the Craft today would find these practices a little weird. :-)

[...] Books of Hours Goddess Book of HoursI know that many Pagans avoid the word faith like the plague and the thought of daily prayer seems appauling to some as well, but I see it as a daily connection to deity. Really prayer in all forms is a powerful vehicle for most thoughts. I have found that it has helped me break down barriers that would still be up if prayer had not been involved. You are building a rope, one strand at a time. Each time you pray and give thanks to your Gods you are adding one more strand to the rope. Initially, your rope is very thin and extremely fragile. The smallest personal frustrations can stress and break the fragile gossamer. If you add only eight strands each year, the odds are highly against your rope being strong enough to hold during a major crisis. If you add a strand every day, then you will have 365 strands by the end of one year. That is not an extremely strong rope yet, but it is much stronger than a single gossamer or an eight-strand rope. from Hawkscry [...]

My better half and I are trying to take 10 minutes before I wander off to bed (he's the night owl) for a prayer and a bit of reflection. Reestablishing the connection with the Divine, especially at the end of a busy day, is a very good thing. Very nice article!

yet another great post!
i also think daily devotions aren't emphasized in Wicca enough, and I think that is the problem with todays "witches" they think it's just about the magick, and that once or twice a month is alright. A nice book that I read, "The Circle Within" was my starting block on daily devotions! I actually also wrote a little piece about devotions here: http://paganway.co.za/blog/?p=42 :)
